| Bio: | This journal is the latest in a series of incarnations of websites relating to the practice of Wicca from the perspective of Dragon's Weave. This started as a coven (Circle of the Dragon's Weave), but has evolved into its own flavor of Wiccan thought and practice. The coven itself no longer exists, but the practice itself continues, albeit quietly. Until recently. My name is BlackHawk. Well, more properly, my name is Bob James, but I've gone by "Hawk" since around 1989. In 1992, I met, married and moved in with Iontas, the woman who was my High Priestess, and we founded a coven in Sheboygan, WI (that still exists, headed by one of our students). We later made a series of moves, finally settling in the Madison, WI-area. In 2002, Circle of the Dragon's Weave faded away, as both Iontas and I withdrew from the Pagan community. Only in the last year, I decided to become active again; Iontas' practice is now almost exclusively Tibetan Buddhist, and her learning has greatly enhanced my understanding of the kind of path I want to take Dragon's Weave. This journal will allow me to pursue a process of fully crafting Dragon's Weave into a complete religious path that would be worthy of survival past me. I am drawing from the works of several who have or are working through similar processes, so I hope to avoid the kind of insular thinking that comes from one lone Wiccan priest writing what he thinks is important. Aside from this work, I have interests in broader themes of religious community, history, and service. I am an ordained Minister in the ULC and am active in community-building efforts in Madison, WI.
